A few helpful starting points for families exploring dyslexia support.

Do you work with students and adults?

Yes! We work with all ages, including children all the way up through adults. Allison’s oldest student was 67!

How do I know if my student may be dyslexic?

Check out the “What is Dyslexia” tab. 1 in 5 students has dyslexia, so it is not rare. Dyslexia is also typically genetic. Dyslexia doesn’t mean something is wrong with someone, but rather, it is a different way to see the world and learn.

Can you test to see if my child has dyslexia?

Mid-South Dyslexia offers dyslexia evaluations for both students and adults. These evaluations take about 1 1/2 to 2 hours and are very laid back. Please note that dyslexia evaluations are not the same thing as a dyslexia diagnosis. Many schools/jobs will accept a letter after a dyslexia evaluation.

Are all programs the same?

No. Each student’s program is individually tailored for his or her needs/goals.

How much does the program cost?

The program cost can vary depending upon the needs of each client. Please contact us for more detailed information on program costs.

Do you work with out-of-state families?

Yes! Allison has worked with families from over 25 states! Many families come in town to complete their program and continue to partner with Allison after the program.

Does this program pair well with homeschooling?

Yes! This program partners perfectly with families that are homeschooling, as well as those attending traditional school.

Do you accept the ESA+ scholarship for North Carolina?

Yes. Mid-South Dyslexia is an approved vendor for the ESA+ scholarship.
